WHAT IS SECONDLIFE?:
Secondlife is an internet-based virtual world. It provides a second life to game users. This world that you will create is directly proportional to your imagination. You can start a game by creating an avatar in the SecondLife and deciding on the features of this avatar such as age, profession, hair and clothes. You can make friends in the game as in real life and you can get a social environment thanks to online chat. Secondlife is effective in overcoming students' inhibitions of speaking foreign languages. Traditional education methods fail to establish oral communication in foreign language teaching. In recent years, educators have started to use virtual environments such as secondlife in their classes. In Turkey, students are more inadequate in speaking and listening skills than writing and reading. Those who learn English as a foreign language need to practice with different people and situations outside of the classroom. Virtual worlds such as SL, Worldcraft provide this environment. Secondlife allows you to practice speaking with text and voice-based speech facilities.
