WHAT IS ''VR SPEECH'' APPLICATION?

VIRTUAL REALITY:

Virtual reality refers to technologies that create an imaginary world, producing images, sounds and reflecting a real world. Virtual reality can be felt thanks to the 3D world created by computers. In addition to the 3D version, senses such as hearing and movement are also used. Chiefly, headset is used to create an immersive 3D experience. In this virtual reality, education, entertainment, test, observation and treatment activities can be carried out widely. According to Jeremy Bailenson, virtual reality is an opportunity in education in terms of learning firsthand where to direct your attention, what consequences your actions will have and even how to talk to another person, rather than learning from a book, video or lecture. It is an effective application in terms of language learning by immersion, distance learning, virtual-campus visiting and game-based learning. Teachers are reluctant VR learning tools into their classrooms because of lacking of literacies. VR technology also reduces to students' distractions. As a conclusion, virtual reality becomes the cause of the development of English speaking and listening skills by making foreign language students experience a real learning dialogue with virtual reality.

VR SPEECH APPLICATION:

I used VR Speech application as a virtual reality application. VR Speech is an application. It is used for practicing public speaking and it enables vocabulary acquisition and speaking training. It is free for İOS, Android and Gear VR. Thanks to some of the video-based tutorials, activities and quizzes it provides, this VR app allows learners to practice whatever they have learned in the virtual world, such as speaking in English and interviewing in English. The user experiences the same situations as real-life. For example, you can make presentations, job interviews, making orders in restaurants, doing shopping and being at the airport. Quality speech recognition and context-specific interaction are basic features of this application. You can use different scenarios. You can also get feedback on your speeches, record all the speeches and see the progress results. Undergraduate, postgraduate students can use this application.
